Unfortunately
anime (the commonly used term now for Japanese animation) is not taught
widely in the US so your best means of learning is to study it and learn
by example (and again all the while looking at other form of visual
expression). One thing that the Japanese productions seem to generate
a great deal of is quality art books after the fact. These books can
be an invaluable source of knowledge into how the pros do it and they're
power to teach the student with the right perspective and approach,
should never be underestimated. Outside of anime is of course the art
world in general and volumes of material is at your disposal if you
know where to look. This page is our little section of books we certainly
recommend you seek out if you're interested in this kind of work. Or
you can simply wish to expand your horizons. Or,
if you're a fan like myself you might buy said books for the great pics!
Either way, you're getting something good, that's for sure. |
